AO1 will involve you describing the many components of the sports industry including sport retail, sport spectating, facility provision, sports coaching, sport development and co-ordination, sport tourism, professional sport, sport-related gambling, sport medicine, sport broadcasting and health and fitness
You will produce a blog which gives the definition and purpose of the component, the scale and size, its target groups, the services offered and functions performed and the impact it has on the sports industry as a whole. You must use local examples throughout to aid your explanations.
PASS - Candidates provide a basic description of the major components of the sports industry. Limited and obvious examples are used.
MERIT - Candidates provide a detailed description of the major components of the sports industry. A range of examples are used.
DISTINCTION - Candidates provide a comprehensive description of the major components of the sports industry. Candidates use a range of appropriate examples including some less obvious ones.
